Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Technologiegeschichte

Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Technologiegeschichte (Thomes, V2/Ü2, WS, social competency, economics competency)

Sustainable corporate management is not possible without a long-term perspective and knowledge of the key context factors of economic activity. This course familiarizes students with specific specifications of economic and managerial as well as technological and social change and innovation processes. The investigation of historical issues aims at identifying factors of structural change and at contextualization of current sets of problems. Economic, social and historical technological methodologies and approaches contribute to multidimensional economic analysis. The course conveys an overview knowledge, orientation knowledge, and methodological knowledge, all of which can be deepened in the project modules. The thematic focuses change every semester and represent different periods and fields of research (e.g. structural change, change management, long-term developments of globalization and of economic thought, crisis management).
