Due to industrialization and globalization, many of the existing non-renewable resources are slowly but steadily reaching their capacitive ends. Their increasing scarcity and their influence on climate change require a transition to sustainable economic development. This has important consequences for all value-added activities, particularly for energy supply and transportation. The Research Area "Energy, Mobility and Environment" (EME), to which this particular area of specialization in the Master in Business Administration program belongs, employs an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates different methodologies and perspectives in order to address these new challenges facing the economy, society, and companies in particular.

Teaching Activities

The Research Area EME offers courses and thesis supervision in the field of energy, mobility, and environment. These are targeted primarily at Bachelor and Master students of Business Administration, Management, Business and Economics as well as Business Administration and Engineering who have a strong interest in interactive, case-based or research-oriented courses primarily taught in the English language.
